If you’ve already completed your 2015 Kick-Off Assembly, we want to work with our Business Partners and Educators to start thinking about taking the next step to further engage with one another. Each of our partnerships is unique, but here are a few ideas to start building that year-long connection:
1) Fill out The Challenge Program, Inc.’s Business-Education Workforce Connection Form
If you have not yet indicated your interest in participating in workforce activities like field trips, classroom visits, job shadowing, career days, etc., please take a few moments to compete The Challenge Program, Inc.’s Workforce Connection checklist included in the Contact Update Forms available online. Click here for the Business Form and here for the Educator Form.
Your Program Manager will be in touch to indicate matching interests. If you are not sure which activities you’d like to participate in, contact your Program Manager directly.
2) Remember The School Career Fair
Many of our participating high schools or career and technology centers host a career fair to expose students to job opportunities in the region. This is an easy way for businesses to get an extra touch with students and build name recognition.
Educators, if you know the date of your school career fair this year please reach out to The Challenge Program, Inc., your Program Manager or your Business Partner directly so they can mark it on their calendar. We can give you the contact information if you need it.
3) Engage in Conversation
Following your Kick-Off Assembly, you should have received a follow-up email from your Program Manager listing the contact information for the primary contact at your partnering school or business. Use it to say hello and start a conversation with them about workforce connection activities.
Remember: our Program Managers are here to help. Once our fall Kick-Off Assemblies are complete, you will be receiving follow-up information from your Program Manager to assure a connection takes place. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
